My experience has been that Barranquilla, Colombia is nearly always sunny during January and Februrary.

I mean REALLY sunny. Perhaps 90-95% of the days are completely blue without a cloud in the sky. There are a few days that are partly cloudy, but those fall into the 10% “bad” days, which are still at least partly sunny.

Although the screenshot below is taken from my celular weather service, I want to caution people that weather websites for the north coast of Colombia are nearly all WRONG. They list the place as having far fewer sunny days than is true in actual fact. Over and over I was struck by this: is my own experience incorrect? Of course not, I can believe what my own eyes are telling me. I’m looking out of my Barranquilla-based window every day. I think I would know. This problem probably comes from their data sources: they are collecting aggregates that span a region that INCLUDES Barranquilla and the north and north west coast of Colombia. Their data is just off.
